I decided to start writing more for this blog and I wanted to start asking fellow cat lovers the same question...Why Cats?
As a cat sitter over the past year and half, I have met a lot of different people, and a lot of fur babies. The relationships between them fascinates me. One cat will be sweet from the start. Another will never show their face to someone other than their human(s).
My first interview is with my very own niece, Ashley! We grew up together with cats. In our adult lives, we have continued to be cat people.
Read the interview below:
1. How many cats do you have and what are their names, ages, breeds(if you know)?
I have 4 cats. Binks (9 yrs, DSH Black), Fiona (8 yrs, DSH, Calico), Buffy (3 yrs, DSH Tabico), and Salem (2 yrs, DMH, Black).
2. How did the cats come into your life(adopted from the shelter, wandered up to your home, etc...)?
BINKS came from a tattoo artist friend in Gainesville who fostered cats. FIONA came from a friend of a friend in Ocala who was irresponsible & had 2 female cats impregnated at the same time by her male cat, so ended up with 11 kittens all born within a week of each other. BUFFY was a stray living in the woods behind my house in Pensacola that I spent a long time earning her trust (almost a year) before she became a spoiled house cat. SALEM I adopted from a local pet store in Mobile.
3. Why cats? (Why do you prefer cats over other animals as pets)?
I prefer cats because they have such unique personalities and do things on their own terms.
4. Do you have any cat organizations in your community that you would like to showcase? I will donate sales to them at the end of the month.
